Android Girl Rig - Free to download

Hi guys, it has been a while since my last update on this blog. And many thanks for anyone following me, giving me feedback, comments or just having a look on my blog, anything.

I've decided to share my Android Girl rig that I've been done last few months :) , it's fully functional with some kinda cool features which I am going to show you below. The reason I am sharing it is very simple, I was thinking the best way to get feedback and ideas from the community is sharing it for free.

And so there you go, feel free to grab it and email me or just leave a comment here if there is any issues on the rig, it's still on a very early version so there are rooms for improvement. I just wanna ask you guys a tiny favor in return which is please keep my credits of the rig.

Sculpting Practice

Just bought a Wacom Intuous 4 Tablet last month with a decent price, so I guess this must be a good time for some scultping practices on Mudbox and Zbrush :D.

Kinda lazy to model any new mesh so I borrowed my friend Ly Nguyen's body model to practice sculpting. Her model was actually for her modeling assignment in class. I just sculpted the front and the back of the body, added some details like bones, muscles, belly-button, etc.

Nothing fancy, it was one of my first sculpture and also the first time I ever used a tablet in my life so didn't really expect too much, lol.

"Promise" , a very short animation on Maya

This makes my 2nd character animation since my first start in the industry.

It have been done with Maya 2011, rendered with mental ray and After Effects CS4 for editing. The rig I used is Eleven Rig which can be found on 11secondclub (and of course it's free). The sound clip I have been provided with was actually from a movie named "Team America" (or so, have never seen it before) and I got roughly 2 weeks to do this.

A mix of non-linear (walk cycle) and linear animation technic, and thanks to that my walk cycle was a little bit off and when I found out about it afterwards, I couldn't do anything much to fix it unless doing the whole sequence again manually. The result was coming out not as good as I expected but the experiences I've gained were extremely valuable.

Enough talk/typing , show time :P

(WIP) Abram Tank

Well, I get a long week holidays for mid-year break ahead, so better doing some modelings and animations than playing game and sleep the whole day :P . I did this tank last week when I found the model sheet on The-blueprints and had some free time.

*** Updated 05 July 2011 : I finished the model without texture, added some rigs to control the machine gun and the lid. Here's a few shots I rendered with Physcial Sun and Sky feature of mental ray, still need a bit of tweaks but a crazy week is coming up ahead so I'm quite happy with this for now.
